Carlos Cernadas is a Spanish guitarist born in Santiago de Compostela in 1988. He grew up in the town of Rianxo and lived for three years in Lisbon, Portugal, where he started playing the guitar. After graduating from High school he started the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Pontevedra but after four years he left to devote himself to music. He worked for two years in a dance orchestra, giving more than 150 performances through Galicia, Asturias and Castilla y León and playing different music genres, such as: rancheras, cumbias, pasodobles, waltz and pop/rock songs.

Simultaneously he studied in Santiago de Compostela at the music school Estudio Escola de Música where he took lectures from Alberto Cereijo (guitar), Suso Atanes (harmony, arrangements and improvisation), Iván Salgado (musical production), Kike Albarado (band performance), Leo Gianetto (singing), Javier Constenla (piano) and LAR Legido (rhythmic training). During his time at this school he obtained a scholarship from the AIE association two years in a row, recorded an EP and played in bands at the well-known local Jazz Dado Dada, as well as significantly improved his knowledge and musical experience . During the last two years at this school he was teaching guitar classes to children and adults at the Cultural Centre of Taragoña in Rianxo.

After almost five years in Estudio he successfully applied for the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) to study a degree in Creative Musicianship. In this University he received lectures from John Wheatcroft, Svetlana Bassileva, Simone Tanda, Pete Wareham, Phil Short, Ronan McCullah, Steve Allsworth, Femi Temowo, Phil Baxter, Kostas Magdalinos, Adam Betts, Tom Herbert, Marios Aristopoulos

and James Wilkie among others. During his second year, James introduced him to the world of film scoring. In October 2018 he composed music for his first short film, awarded at the Raindance 48 hour film challenge festival  in London.

​During his first two years in London he performed in venues such as Nambucca, Under the Bridge, Watter Ratts, The Venue 229, Notting Hill Arts Club, Camden Market, Zigfrid von Underbelly with Selin and The Band (Selin Gecit, Jan Simson, Chris Andrew, Andy Bar). While he was performing with Selin and the band, they were selected to play at the end of term showcase at BIMM- a talent festival that selected artists of each academic term- and getting into the finals of the Coffe Music Project contest. In May 2018 they recorded an EP at Buffalo Studios, produced by Dustin Dooley.

He has performed in various groups of covers and original songs, mainly rock, playing around Galicia (Spain). Some of these bands were: E.k.o.s (Spanish hard rock), Mustang (Acoustic covers), Little Stones (rock covers) and The Bartenders (versions of rock-pop in acoustic format). He has got experience recording in studios and live: Buffalo Studios, Escola Estudio, Pousada das Ánimas, Bimm studio, Sofar Music, Unleashed Sessions.


Carlos is a G4 Guitar teacher and also the founder of the Jam Now Guitar School. He is currently working on the third part of his solo project 'Sons Of Exodus', that mixes traditional Galician music with metal, and rehearsing for the upcoming tour.
